Yvonne at Christmas Lite Craft Show.

In 1974 Yvonne was one of the fashion designers chosen to present her work in the Bicentennial Black Fashion Show in Washington D.C. in the United States.  In June of 1979 she won the Barakett Award
for the outstanding design in Children's Apparel, also an outstanding achievement award from Rain master for her raincoat design.  Her gown designs were used by a " Miss Caribanna Beauty Pageant " in 1980.  
The Caribbean Focus Magazine presented their production of The
Fantasy Fashion Show at the Ambassador Room at Holiday Hotel in1981. This show was sponsored by the fashion industry giving her the opportunity to demonstrate her creative talent to a large Toronto audience.

Then she participated in the Canadian Black Fashion Designer Association Show, Black Magic,  in Toronto, Ontario.  She also assisted with in the Hamilton Guyanese Culture Association by participated in present her designs in their production, The Chic Show of Fashions in 1981, and
in 1982.  Yvonne designed the gowns for the  “ Miss Caribbean Beauty Pageant ", and also for the "Miss Black Ontario Beauty Pageant" in 1982.
